Biography

Naveed Zadran, born on 7th March 2005, began making his mark in Afghan cricket at a young age. He made his first-class debut for Mis Ainak in the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament on October 31, 2022. The following year, he represented the Hindukush Strikers in the same tournament, where he finished as the leading wicket-taker of the season.


In December 2021, Zadran was named to Afghanistan's squad for the 2022 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he impressed with his bowling. His standout performance came against Papua New Guinea, where he claimed figures of 2/9 and ended the tournament with 7 wickets.


Zadran continued his rise through the ranks, making his List A debut for Afghanistan A during their tour of Oman on October 12, 2023. He also played in List A matches for Mis Ainak Region.


His rapid ascent led to a call-up to Afghanistan's Test squad for their series against Sri Lanka in January 2024. On February 2, 2024, Zadran made his Test debut for Afghanistan against Sri Lanka, marking another significant milestone in his burgeoning career.
